"Aufray sings Dylan"

Presentation by Pierre Delanoƫ (1965)
Long before the first songs of Bob Dylan until we arrive, Hugues Aufray, who had known the America, told anyone who would listen: "Dylan is great, one of these days I'll record an album which will be dedicated and you will see that it will be very important." Here this album and I really think it is very important for the song. There had to make some difficulties to be resolved: first the passage of the English language acquired, French, verbose language. Then abundance in the text anglicism, Americanism, and especially of "Dylan". Finally, the transposition of "Dylan's" in "his Aufray. These problems have been solved and I think you'll hear the "never heard". Some listeners may be a little confused at first listen, but the sincerity of the designer as that of the interpreter will eventually touch the heart. You can really speak of event, because in singing the American author, Hugues Aufray resurrects in modern form a very French kind forgotten for half a century: "Lament" full of truths, popular, poetic freshness and musical simplicity. That's why I do not hesitate to say that born today in this record the first international folk songs of our time.
